About Cradley Singers

Cradley Singers is a community chamber choir renowned for its polished performances and friendly atmosphere – a place where singing is a joy.

We’re based on the borders of Worcestershire and Herefordshire, high on the Malvern Hills in the heart of Elgar country.  Our members come from surrounding towns and villages to rehearse each Wednesday evening in Storridge village hall on the main Hereford-Worcester road.

We usually perform three main concerts each year plus occasional appearances at other special choral events. In summer 2009 the Singers presented the sung Eucharist at Worcester Cathedral and in 2010, we’re joining forces with Bromyard Choral Society to sing in Northern Italy.

Repertoire is wide. The 2009 season has included Faure’s Requiem, an American programme featuring Broadway hits, Barber-shop balads and spirituals, the Rutter Magnificat and other Christmas music; our Spring concert will include Mozart’s wonderful Vespers.

Cradley Singers’ distinguished artistic director David Kemp is delighted to welcome new members, whether experienced or not. The only qualifications are a passion for singing and enough enthusiasm to attend regular weekly rehearsals and undertake some practice at home.

Come and join us to make beautiful music!
